Abstract:
Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam is not having an old entrance regarding the implementation of Quality Assurance Procedures in higher Education. Only one of its Institutes had implemented ISO-9001-2008 but on the broader scale it does not have any Quality Assurance System. To cater this need Directorate of Quality Enhancement has been established at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. Thus this paper will investigate in detail the impact regarding the establishment of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) in general and in particular it will highlight the implementation of Self Assessment Practices in model department.
The paper is divided into four sections. First section describes various perceptions regarding the establishment of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC). Second section describes the benefits of Self Assessment Practices in model department and provides the answers how it strengthens the already existing Quality Assurance System for Institute of Food Sciences & Technology, a model department of QEC. Third section draws some conclusions and finally the fourth section provides some recommendations to follow.

Abstract:
Higher Education Commission, Islamabad has undergone drastic improvement in recent time. New strategies were adopted to take maximum benefits from institutes of higher learning. Introduction of Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs) in public and private sector universities is one of such example. The major aim of these cells is to ensure the provision of quality in higher education. Now the question arises does the QECs are achieving their objectives of establishment?. This paper discusses in detail the teachers view point highlighting the line of action QECs may follow to achieve its aims and objectives in public sector universities.
The paper thus divided into three sections. First section describes the establishment of QECs at various public sector universities. Second section then identifies the teachers’ viewpoints regarding the impact and working of QECs. Third section finally draws conclusions by providing some recommendations to follow.
