Department of Agricultural Education, Extension and Short Courses

The Department of Agricultural Education, Extension and Short Courses is responsible for imparting education in the field of Agricultural Education and Extension up to the level of PhD. The curriculum in Agricultural Education and Extension covers the sub-disciplines namely Agricultural Technology Transfer, Communication, Extension Programs For Rural Development, Agricultural Education Research, Agricultural Extension Teaching Methods, Education Guidance and Counseling, Adult Education, Measurement And Evaluation In Education, Extension For Rural Youth and Women etc. In order to cope with challenges of the fast changing world and the advancements in various disciplines the manpower needs to be trained in the field of Agricultural Education and Extension.

The Department of Agricultural Education, Extension and Short Courses offers course work which enables students to serve as social catalyst/extension educationists / social mobilizers in various farming communities / societies. The students after graduating are expected to work for the development of a farmer through a holistic farm education approach and diffusion and adoption of need-based latest agricultural technologies and training in various agricultural products. The department offers B.Sc. (Agri) Hons, M.Sc. (Agri) Hons and PhD in the field of Agricultural Education Extension.

Sequences and series: Arithmetic progression, geometric progression, harmonic progression.
Binomial Theorem: Introduction to mathematical induction, binomial theorem with rational and irrational indices.
Integration and Definite Integrals: Techniques of evaluating indefinite integrals. Integration by substitution, integration by parts, change of variable in indefinite integrals.
Derivatives and their Applications: Differentiable of polynomial, rational and transcendental functions, derivatives.
Trigonometry: Fundamentals of trigonometry, trigonometric identities.
Geometry in Two Dimensions: Cartesian-coordinate mesh, slope of a line, equation of line, parallel and perpendicular lines, angle between two lines, distance between two points and a line.
