The Crop yields in Pakistan have remained stagnant for a very long time and are very low as compared to neighboring East Punjab, China, USA and Japan.
Lack of scientific agriculture practices, improper use of fertilizer, wastage of water along with an age-old practices of flood irrigation and nonuser of new high yield seeds, are some of the common reasons for poor agriculture performance of Pakistan.
The situation has become very critical with the climate change and global warming with acute scarcity of water. Pakistan is in a very critical stage of food security with a dismally low crop yield. Pakistan being fundamentally agriculture country and agriculture produce has a significant contribution in its GDP.
It is imperative to rethink our agriculture practices and deploy advanced technology in addressing and solving the issues of crop yields, efficient use of water, better land utilization, proper use of fertilizer and use of high yield seeds.
The National Conference on “Integrating Climate Smart Agriculture and Water, Energy and Food Nexus for Sustainable Development and Food Security under Changing Climate” is for the first time bringing together the Experts in the field of agriculture and Technologists along with relevant Government Departments and Representatives of Agro based industry in Pakistan.
We will ponder on Climate Change, Water Management, Modern Agriculture practices and selection of Technology to mitigate impact of scarce resources on the future agriculture yields and recommend sustainable agriculture practices for future food security.
National Conference on “Integrating Climate Smart Agriculture and Water, Energy and Food Nexus for Sustainable Development and Food Security under Changing Climate” invites leading Agriculturists, University Professors, Policy Makers, Young Individuals, Agricultural Engineers, Technology Experts, Industry Experts, Stakeholders, Agronomists and All other enthusiastic Participants to send their abstracts for the conference. The conference jointly organized by Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi and Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam with the support of Sindh Higher Education Commission will be held from 15th August to 16th August, 2022 at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi-Pakistan.
