Molecular Biology Laboratory at Department of Animal Reproduction

Molecular Biology Laboratory is well-established and well-equipped at NCLBGG (National Centre for Livestock Breeding, Genetics & Genomics) Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam was established in 2021. Since the establishment this laboratory is full functional and experiments involving basic molecular biological techniques are routine and are carried out on daily basis.

The following facilities and capabilities are available:

  1. Core Laboratory Infrastructure
  • DNA/RNA Extraction Room (clean & contamination-free)
  • PCR Room (with separate area to prevent contamination)
  • Gel Electrophoresis & Imaging Section
  • Sample Storage with deep freezers (−20°C, −40°C) and cryo tanks (liquid nitrogen)

2.       Major Equipment Available

  • Thermal Cyclers (Conventional PCR machine)
  • Gel Documentation System
  • Fluorometer / Spectrophotometers (Qubit 4 for nucleic acid quantification)
  • Centrifuges (High-speed and refrigerated)
  • Biosafety Cabinets
  • Autoclaves and Hot Air Ovens

3.       Molecular Techniques Supported
