University Activities Under HESSA Project

Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University, and Vice Chancellors of other universities have reached South Korea for a week-long visit, to participate in training programs, which is being hosted by the University of Utah, Asia Campus based in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The Vice Chancellors of 11 universities of Pakistan, including the Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, out of sixteen HESSA partner universities departed for South Korea on an exchange visit under the USAID’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA) being implemented by the University of Utah.

Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Dr. Fateh Marri congratulated Prof. Dr. Bhai Khan Solangi for receiving the Shield Award during the second competition of National Ideas Bank (NIB) and his excellent service as a judge in the competition for the agricultural sector. The second final ceremony of National Ideas Bank (NIB) was held at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology Karachi on Monday, where President Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi was present as a guest of honor.

The third sports festival among public and private schools was organized on the grounds of Sindh Agriculture University, students from more than 20 schools participated in 27 different sports, Bukhari Model High School of Sindh Agriculture University won the first position.

A Four-day training on "Satellite Remote Sensing for estimation evapotranspiration" concluded, the Vice Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) distributed certificates among the participants, from different organizations and institutions of the province, on Friday.

"Empowering Education: Sindh Agriculture University Vice Chancellor encourages students to establish a Scholarship Society and emphasizes on merit-based scholarships and an e-portal for internship support."

Over 4533 candidates including 634 girls participated in the entry test, for admission to the Undergraduate Degree Program academic year 2022-23,

Industry, and Academia agree to promote Agri-tech in the country, develop the value of agri-business and create more opportunities for women's involvement in agriculture and information technology.

HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM STRENGTHENING ACTIVITY (HESSA)

USAID’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA) is a 5-year partnership between the government of Pakistan and the United States. It will include partnerships with 16 Pakistani universities. The project is of US $19-million. HESSA project is being Implemented by the University of Utah in collaboration with HEC, and the project focuses on enhancing graduate employability.
