About Quality Enhancement Cell
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was established at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam in 2006 during the second phase of QECs established by the Higher Education Commission.
The QEC is responsible for planning, coordinating, and following up self-assessment activities for academic programs. It works to improve academic standards, enhance students’ learning, verify program objectives, provide feedback for quality assurance, and prepare academic programs for review by discipline councils.
Main Objectives of Self-Assessment
- Maintain and continuously enhance academic standards.
- Enhance students’ learning.
- Verify that existing programs meet their objectives and institutional goals.
- Provide feedback for quality assurance of academic programs.
- Prepare academic programs for review by discipline councils.
- Conduct periodic self-assessment for degree programs offered by university departments.

The meeting of Deans of Faculties and Chairmen Departments with the Vice Chancellor was held to discuss the status of self-assessment practices and implementation plans. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of QEC and highlighted its role in developing a quality culture at the university.
- Departments of 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase were asked to complete their goals identified by the Assessment Team.
- Departments that had not submitted the initial draft of Self Assessment Report were advised to submit SAR within one week.
- The second Self Assessment Cycle was decided to be started in selected departments and institutes.
- Departments with incomplete Program Teams were asked to submit proposals for revision of PTs for approval of the Vice Chancellor.

The Directorate of Quality Enhancement was established to support the implementation of quality assurance procedures in higher education at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. Its work focuses on strengthening academic quality, improving self-assessment practices, and supporting departments in maintaining quality assurance standards.
